Another edition of the VR Games Showcase is set to take the stage this March, with event organizers promising what they describe as the “biggest line-up yet” for XR games.
Right now, details are scarce, especially regarding the exact date of the online event. However, the organizers have hinted via social media posts that more information is on the horizon.
In line with previous VR Games Showcases, we anticipate announcements about the participating studios, which should give us a clearer idea of what’s in store. While there’s a strong focus on Quest games, we can also expect exciting news about upcoming PSVR 2 and PC VR titles.
Reflecting on last year’s event, there was no shortage of game announcements and updates. We saw gameplay reveals for HITMAN III: Reloaded and Vertigo Games’ Arizona Sunshine Remake. Fast Travel Games unveiled Action Hero, and there were gameplay trailers for the survival game GRIM—like Rust, but in VR. All these came from seven different studios and featured over 15 titles in total.
Just a month after, the event also brought us the ‘XR Indies and Friends’ showcase, introducing fresh information about Innerspace VR’s One True Path. We got to see gameplay from Cyborn’s MR adventure Wall Town Wonders, a teaser for the VR version of Ovid Works’ Kafka-esque Metamorphosis, and some gameplay from Just Add Water’s arcade-style digging simulator, DIG VR.
Until then, keep your eyes peeled on the VR Games Showcase YouTube channel, where all the action will be livestreamed. We’re eager for more announcements as we move closer to March.
