Tango Gameworks, the renowned Japanese game developer, is exploring the possibility of crafting a sequel to their 2023 hit, Hi-Fi Rush. During a conversation with IGN, the studio’s head, Colin Mack, expressed some enthusiasm about this potential project. However, Mack was careful not to officially announce that they are currently working on a sequel.
“We’re definitely looking at the idea of a sequel in a positive light,” Mack shared with IGN. “However, it’s too early for us to commit to any specific plans or say, ‘This is our next move.'”
Adding to the discussion, John Johanas, the director of Hi-Fi Rush, mentioned, “There’s a lot of passion for Hi-Fi Rush among our team, so we’ve got some interesting paths we could take. Right now, we’re evaluating different possibilities.”
On another note, Kazuaki Egashira, the project manager, touched on what sets Tango Gameworks apart. “The essence of Tango is the pursuit of creating fresh and unique experiences,” they explained. “Hi-Fi Rush emerged as a fresh IP, but if it stays static, it risks becoming dated.”
Egashira emphasized, “At Tango Gameworks, we thrive on embracing new challenges. It’s important for us to keep the developers engaged and passionate, always at the forefront of what we do.”
