Resist has just received its first update since it launched on the PlayStation VR2 last week. The developers at Binary Mill are rolling out some exciting features and fixes with this update. Notably, the PS5 Pro now boasts a default mode running at 120Hz, providing users with a smoother and more immersive experience during the intense first-person action.
In addition to the enhanced visuals, this update addresses a few pesky issues. Social screen tearing has been remedied, and a rare glitch that caused players to fall through the in-game world has been squashed. Moreover, those who encountered problems with the game hanging on a black screen when attempting to switch languages should find this annoyance is now a thing of the past.
The game’s reception on Sony’s platform is fascinating, given its origin story. Resist made its debut on the Oculus Quest in 2021 and found its way to PC VR the following year. Many have noted similarities to the beloved Spider-Man games, which are synonymous with Sony consoles, making the enhanced PS VR2 version a fitting addition to the franchise.
While eye-tracking features may not port over to other platforms, PC players are curious whether the higher refresh rate will make its way to their screens. As of now, Binary Mill hasn’t confirmed anything on that front. However, they did provide a tantalizing hint about their upcoming Quest title, Into Black, which will also be available on PS VR2. They teased, “It’s looking real good, and it’s not too far away now.”
Exciting times are ahead for VR gaming, and with updates like this, Binary Mill is certainly keeping fans engaged and eagerly awaiting what’s next.
