After some uproar from the community, it seems like the PS Stars Wallet funds reward is making a comeback for many gamers, though not completely restored just yet. Earlier today, players from various parts of the world noticed the return of the $5 or £5 reward in their accounts. For some, this single option is back, while others have seen multiple reward denominations become available to them again.
Interestingly, the reappearance of PS Stars Wallet funds doesn’t seem to be tied to one’s membership level or PS Plus subscription status. Some gamers mentioned that their reward popped back up after renewing their PS Plus or upgrading to PS Plus Premium, but it’s important to note that these changes didn’t actually influence the return of the PS Store credit option.
As someone who’s a PS Stars Level 4 member with a basic PS Plus Essential subscription, I never lost access to my £10 Wallet funds reward. Today, however, the £5 reward made its way back to my account. Other players, some of whom aren’t even current PS Plus members, have also reported seeing this reward available again.
Over the past month, Sony has remained tight-lipped on this issue, leaving frustrated players to seek help from PS Support. Unfortunately, support agents often provided answers that were inconsistent and, quite frankly, baffling. It’s still uncertain whether we’ll see a full restoration of the Wallet funds reward.
On a brighter note, it seems that Sony has addressed another issue. As of this morning, the previously faulty PS Store video game rewards system is up and running. Players can now exchange their points for games that had been inaccessible until yesterday.
