Nintendo recently announced that their highly anticipated Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, April 2, 2025, and they’re planning to keep us entertained for about an hour with it.
Mark your calendars and set your alarms! You can catch the live broadcast of the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 at 6 a.m. PT, 9 a.m. ET, 2 p.m. BST, or 3 p.m. CEST, depending where you are in the world.
Just last month, Nintendo officially introduced the Nintendo Switch 2 to the public, putting an end to weeks of swirling rumors, alleged leaks, and all sorts of flimflam about the successor to their popular portable home console.
In a brief reveal video, Nintendo not only showed off the sleek new design of the console but also gave us a little teaser of a new Mario Kart offering. What’s even more exciting is the confirmation that the hardware will be backwards compatible with games from the original portable home console.
Nintendo has assured fans that the Nintendo Switch 2 will accommodate both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games. However, they’ve also cautioned that some Nintendo Switch games might not work on, or be fully compatible with, the new system.
As for hitting the stores, the Nintendo Switch 2 is poised for a global release in 2025, though they’re keeping the exact date under wraps for now. We’re all on the edge of our seats waiting for more specifics.
