Last week, Survios launched their highly anticipated horror shooter, Alien: Rogue Incursion (2024), without indicating that it was just the beginning of a series. The game isn’t incomplete, but rather sets the stage for more to come.
As fans dove into the game on PC VR and PSVR 2, many were puzzled by the new ‘Part One’ label. Was this the entire game, or was it being released in segments?
In our comprehensive review, we emphasized that this eight-hour adventure is indeed a complete game, earning a respectable 7 out of 10. The game captivates with its immersive settings and heart-pounding encounters against Xenomorphs reminiscent of raptors, although it slightly falters due to repetitive enemies and a challenging save system.
Addressing the confusion, Survios recently took to X to clarify their intentions. The ‘Part One’ designation isn’t about parceling out the game in bits. While this self-contained tale leaves us on a cliffhanger, it’s only the start of a two-part narrative.
Excitingly, Survios confirmed that development of Part Two is already underway, promising “deadlier enemies and more challenging obstacles.” That’s definitely something to look forward to.
In the meantime, we’re curious about how the Quest release, set for February 13, 2025, will perform on Quest 3/3S. As mentioned in the review, this game features dynamic level loading, detailed textures, and numerous physics-based interactions—likely contributing to the initial delay for the Quest version.
Here is the full statement from Survios:
“To our valued community,
We have received significant feedback regarding the ‘Part One’ label appearing in the opening moments, achievement/trophy list, and store pages of Alien: Rogue Incursion.
Our intention was never to mislead or cause confusion about the game’s nature. We now recognize how the term ‘Part One’ might be misunderstood.
This first installment is a standalone adventure concluding with a cliffhanger. We wanted fans to know that more is on the horizon because we’re already working on Part Two. Our team members are avid Alien universe enthusiasts and are eager to expand the stories of Zula, Davis, and more.
While there’s nothing new to announce about Part Two beyond its ongoing development, rest assured that we’ll share exciting updates when possible.
We truly appreciate the excitement and passion you’ve shown for Alien: Rogue Incursion and hope that exploring Purdan and Castor’s Cradle brings you as much joy as it did us creating it.”
