Capcom has officially announced that its eagerly awaited action RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds, will be optimized for the PS5 Pro right from its release day. Set to launch on February 28, 2025, the game will come with a day-one patch that includes the enhancements. While Capcom hasn’t gone into great detail about these updates, they did reveal the goals for graphics and resolution on the console.
In a recent community update leading up to the launch, Capcom revealed that the standard PS5 edition of Monster Hunter Wilds will include two modes: ‘Prioritize Graphics’ and ‘Prioritize Framerate’. For those prioritizing graphics, you’ll see resolutions of 3840 x 2160 / 3072 x 1728 running at 30 fps. On the other hand, the framerate option will deliver 3840 x 2160 / 1920 x 1080 at a smooth 60 fps.
On their social media platform, X, Capcom addressed the community’s concerns by stating that they have “resolved rendering issues identified during the Open Beta Test and are steadily refining the game for its release.”
A sneak preview shared on their Twitter account gave fans a glimpse of the “Prioritize Performance” mode on PS5, showcasing the progress made by the team to overcome the early beta hurdles. This reassures players that significant tweaks and enhancements are being implemented in preparation for the big day.
The open beta version of Monster Hunter Wilds did cause some worries, especially concerning how the game performed. However, it was the PC iteration that faced the most critical issues. This isn’t the first time Capcom has faced such challenges; previously, the PS5 version of Dragon’s Dogma 2 also had its share of performance setbacks. The situation wasn’t much improved with its PS5 Pro patch. Thankfully, by focusing on Monster Hunter Wilds’ PS5 Pro patch in advance of its release, developers have ample opportunity to ensure a smoother experience for players.
