Are you growing weary of all the talk about “Dune Awakening” without getting a chance to dive in yourself? Well, hopefully not too weary to read a bit more, because the wait is almost over! The game is offering a free open beta weekend starting May 9 and wrapping up on May 12.
To join in, you can either wishlist the game before May 9 for a shot at participating or snag one of the many beta codes the team will be handing out over the weekend. So, while it’s open, it’s also a bit of a lucky draw. Think of it as a slightly ajar door, not wide open, but accessible enough.
Interestingly, this beta weekend aligns just before the original release date of May 15, which got postponed. Funcom decided to take a little extra time to ensure everything is polished and ready for the full release.
During the beta, you’ll have access to the first two regions, offering around 20 hours of gameplay if you explore thoroughly. You’ll get to check out various Research Facilities, test early abilities for different classes, and even enjoy some PvP action at ship crash sites. It’s a solid preview of what’s to come. If you’re curious about our take, we’ve just released a new preview covering this experience.
Excited for the open beta? We’d love to hear your thoughts below!
