In an exciting development for Destiny 2 fans, Bungie is rolling out significant updates to exotic weapons with the February release of Episode Heresy. As the countdown continues on the current Episode Revenant, players are eagerly looking forward to this pivotal update, which sets the stage for the upcoming launch of Codename Frontiers this summer.
Bungie’s latest weekly update has unveiled a series of sandbox changes aimed at revamping some beloved yet sidelined exotic weapons. One standout in this lineup is the D.A.R.C.I. sniper rifle. Once a powerhouse in the game’s arsenal, D.A.R.C.I. has seen a decline as newer exotic weapons took center stage. But Bungie isn’t just giving it a simple power-up; they’re offering a strategic twist to the weapon’s role within a fireteam. Channeling inspiration from how the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher boosts team play with its perks, D.A.R.C.I. is set to introduce a new catalyst perk called Network Targeting. This perk will enhance the performance and precision damage of non-Exotic Sniper Rifles used by both the player and their allies after engaging a target with Personal Assistant. Furthermore, D.A.R.C.I. owners will enjoy a 15% damage boost when they support allies up to five times.
Moving beyond D.A.R.C.I., Bungie’s updates extend to other underperforming exotic weapons, bringing exciting revisions to suitable gear. Telesto, the game’s notorious fusion rifle, is getting a unique overhaul. Bungie has embraced the weapon’s infamous unpredictability and cleverly intertwined its gameplay and lore. The updated Telesto will now trigger extra perks on Void final blows, allowing players to refill ammo reserves. Additionally, it features a reload function that unleashes a barrage of Telesto projectiles on the next direct attack.
Other exotic enhancements include upgrades for Thunderlord and Cloudstrike, the latter currently delighting players in the Destiny 2 Past is Prologue event with the Bolt Charge bonus. Additionally, Lord of Wolves has undergone a redesign, and both Fourth Horseman and Legend of Acrius are becoming less niche choices with new buffs. Heavy-duty weapons such as Wardcliff Coil, Queensbreaker, and The Colony are also in line for significant improvements, alongside several other less-utilized options.
In essence, Destiny 2 continues to enrich its universe, ensuring that both veteran players and newcomers find fresh, dynamic experiences in each update. With Episode Heresy on the horizon, the future holds exciting adventures for Guardians everywhere.
