Cyberpunk 2077’s latest update is primarily aimed at squashing persistent bugs, but there’s a little surprise tucked away in the patch notes that’s worth getting excited about.
As everyone gears up for the launch of Nvidia’s new GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs on January 30, gamers still running Cyberpunk 2077 on older PCs have something to look forward to. They can start tinkering with some fresh DLSS 4 features—short for “deep learning super sampling.” This update brings an enhanced single-frame generation model that boosts performance while reducing VRAM usage. Plus, there’s a new Transformer model designed to enhance stability, lighting, and detail during motion.
According to The Verge, members of the Nvidia subreddit are diving into this tech, posting comparison screenshots that show the improvements.
For those players who upgrade to an RTX 50 series GPU at the end of the month, there’s another feature on the horizon called Multi Frame Generation. The patch notes mention that this can “boost FPS by using AI to generate up to three times per traditionally rendered frame.” It’s definitely intriguing!
On January 6, Nvidia rolled out a comprehensive list of games that will eventually support this DLSS 4 technology. The roster includes titles like Diablo IV, God of War Ragnarök, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Marvel Rivals, Microsoft Flight Simulator, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and a bunch more.
