Rebecka Coutaz, the general manager at DICE, has recently been given more responsibilities as she takes on a leadership role at Criterion, a well-known UK game developer.
According to GI.biz, Coutaz is now the VP and GM of Battlefield Studios Europe. Since 2016’s Battlefield 1, Criterion has been a key contributor to EA’s major shooter series and will continue to work on the franchise alongside the teams at Motive and Ripple Effect in the U.S.
Coutaz joined DICE back in November 2021, bringing her experience from her previous role as the head of Ubisoft’s Annecy studio.
Reflecting on her journey so far, Coutaz remarked, “Joining DICE in 2021 was an opportunity to work with an incredibly talented and diverse team. I’m truly honored to step into this broader leadership role, focusing on the future of these two extraordinary studios, each with its distinct and storied past.”
“DICE and Criterion have been trailblazers in the European gaming scene. I’m eager to inspire our teams to break new ground and innovate in ways that enhance the player experience. Together, alongside our colleagues at Motive and Ripple Effect, we will channel the creative strengths of each studio to expand and evolve the Battlefield series for a global audience and future generations. It’s a thrilling time as we chart the course for Battlefield’s next chapter, and I’m eager to welcome those who are passionate about being part of this exciting journey.”
