Back in July, “Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable” made its debut in Early Access on Quest. At that time, players got to explore one mission, or ‘chapter,’ along with a couple of unlockable blades. It was a tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come, with the promise of more content rolling out in the months ahead. Fast forward to now, and developer UNIVRS has rolled out the ‘Complete Edition,’ expanding the game’s universe to a total of four chapters.
When we first got our hands on it in July, the game felt like a work-in-progress. It offered a decent sampling of core gameplay mechanics but was restricted to a single chapter, complemented by a wave mode that featured a scoreboard, which felt obligatory rather than innovative.
With the Complete Edition in play, those who are diving back in can now explore chapters three and four, enjoy an Epilogue, and tackle a fearsome Armored Titan boss.
Additionally, for those who like to play with friends, co-op mode is now available, allowing you and a buddy to tackle all the chapters together.
To keep the excitement going, UNIVRS is teasing a ‘Thunder Spear Unlock Event’ slated for January, which they describe as a “global challenge.” There’s also a free update on the horizon, expected in 2025, according to the game’s webpage.
While our initial impressions earlier in the year pointed out some rough edges, it seems that fans have taken to the game with enthusiasm. As of now, “Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable” enjoys a commendable 4.5 out of 5 user rating on the Horizon Store.
For those who purchased the Early Access version, Part 2 is complimentary to download. Newcomers, on the other hand, have a few options: Part 1 is available for $8, Part 2 (which requires Part 1) for $12, or grab both Part 1 and Part 2 bundled at $20. The game is compatible with Quest 2, Quest 3/S, and Quest Pro.
