Apple’s suite of artificial intelligence tools, known as Apple Intelligence, is set to expand its reach to Vision Pro this coming April with the rollout of visionOS 2.4. However, for those who have developer mode enabled, there’s already a chance to dive in and explore.
As you might imagine, this update means Vision Pro will soon be equipped with a range of cutting-edge AI features. These include writing aids, AI-crafted images, smart reply functionalities, natural language search in Photos, AI-generated summaries, and personalized emojis—tools that have been progressively enhanced since they debuted on iOS and Mac the previous October. A crucial aspect here is Vision Pro’s strong focus on voice and hand-based text input, which could revolutionize user interaction.
In a particularly exciting development, the upcoming Vision Pro update promises significant improvements to the Guest User experience. This will allow users to share their Vision Pro dynamically with others using nearby iPhones or iPads. This feature aims to simplify the process of introducing guests to the Vision Pro world, smoothing over the usual confusion people face when navigating these systems, such as finding the right icons to tap.
Another noteworthy addition in version 2.4 is the launch of the Spatial Gallery. This thoughtful curation will include spatial photos, various video formats, and breathtaking panoramas contributed by artists, filmmakers, and renowned photographers. Once released, the Spatial Gallery will be accessible in a broad range of countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the UAE, the UK, and the US.
In addition, Vision Pro will soon boast more seamless integration with iOS. When visionOS 2.4 officially goes live in April, users can utilize the forthcoming Apple Vision Pro iOS app to manage app downloads, explore spatial content, and access device details right from their iPhone. This app is set to launch simultaneously with iOS 18.4, further enhancing the interconnected Apple ecosystem.
Initially, the 2.4 update featuring Apple Intelligence will only support U.S. English. However, Apple assures us that this is just the beginning, with plans to roll out additional language support and features throughout the year.
While the exact release date remains tentative beyond the April timeframe, interested developers can already access a beta version of visionOS 2.4. To jump on board, head over to Settings > Privacy & Security on your device, enable “Developer Mode,” and give your Vision Pro a restart to get started.
