Respawn Entertainment has just released an exciting update for Apex Legends, introducing some intriguing adjustments to both Legends and weapons. While Season 24 was already moving forward with its March 25 mid-season patch, the developers seem committed to fine-tuning the game even further.
Over the past several seasons, major updates have become a staple in keeping the battle royale fresh and engaging. Although a new Legend hasn’t graced the roster since Alter in Season 21, Respawn has been busy enhancing the existing classes. Just in the recent mid-season update, Skirmishers got a significant revamp to make them more useful for players who thrive on mobility. Now, fresh balance changes are here to shake things up even more.
With this latest April update, some of your favorite Legends, including Ash, Mirage, Seer, and Conduit, have seen their abilities tweaked. For example, Ash’s Phase Breach will now require a bit more time to reach maximum distances, stretching from 1.4 seconds to 2.5 seconds. Even the shortest distances will take slightly longer: now 0.5 seconds instead of 0.3 seconds. This means Ash will take a bit longer to reposition, possibly giving opponents a slight edge to react.
Mirage enthusiasts are in for a treat as he can now deploy six decoys instead of five with his Ultimate, adding an extra layer of chaos for opponents to sift through. Conduit has seen a boost in her Tactical ability, with health regeneration ticking up from three to four. Seer’s Tactical also gets a speed upgrade; his ability now impacts targets faster in 0.8 seconds, down from the previous 1.4 seconds, and completes in 0.9 seconds instead of 1.0 seconds.
Beyond the Legends, weaponry has been adjusted as well. The formidable Hemlock receives a headshot damage boost by two points and sees its magazine size increase by three, which affects all attachments apart from the purple one. Submachine guns aren’t left out either; they now boast an additional point of headshot damage. However, where some guns gained, others were nerfed. The P2020’s damage drops from 25 to 24, and the L-Star now has increased recoil with a smaller projectile size. Additionally, for Accelerated Weapons, the ultimate charge gain by knocking out and assisting enemies drops from 30% to 20%.
These changes aim to rebalance the playing field in Apex Legends. Though this update is not as sweeping as the mid-season patch, it looks to address some community concerns. It will be fascinating to see how these adjustments influence the game’s meta in the coming weeks. Ultimately, whether the modifications hit the mark in enhancing the battle royale experience will become clear with time.
