HOOP-O Studios, an exciting new player in the indie gaming world focused on mixed reality experiences, has revealed that “Alex and the Jets,” its remote-controlled dogfighting title, will be landing on Quest 3 next month.
This game offers a casual yet thrilling arcade flying experience, placing you in the cockpit alongside Alex the Squirrel, maneuvering his compact, propeller-driven plane. As you soar through the sky, you’ll encounter adversaries from ‘The Jets,’ a gang that dramatically appears via portals scattered across your walls. Your mission? Shoot them down while skillfully navigating through donut-shaped hoops that provide both weapon upgrades and health boosts.
For those moments when you want to enjoy a more relaxed flight, the game features a free roam mode. Here, you can buzz around your room without any pressure. Additionally, with local leaderboards, you can keep tabs on your progress, and a store brimming with cosmetics allows you to outfit Alex in stylish new gear.
HOOP-O Studios has shared that the gameplay footage in their trailer, available below, was directly recorded using the headset’s camera. This certainly boosts confidence in what players can expect. Although a precise release date for “Alex and the Jets” isn’t set in stone yet, the developers aim for an April launch on the Horizon Store, supporting both Quest 3 and Quest 3S models.
