Rogueside has revealed some exciting news: their new visual novel, “Best Served Cold,” rich with detective intrigue, is currently being developed for the Nintendo Switch.
In this game, you step into an alternate version of Europe where you take on the role of a bartender who unexpectedly veers into detective work at a speakeasy called The Nightcap. It’s the last of its kind in town, where you’ll be tasked with concocting cocktails while your patrons divulge their deepest secrets.
As you engage with your clientele, you’ll gather snippets of their lives, all the while piecing together a mystery that weaves through every social strata of Bukovie. From the flamboyantly tipsy high rollers eager to part with their money, to the shady police officers and unsavory characters trying to drag you into their clandestine business, you’ll need to stay sharp. Employ your wit to charm or intimidate those who might hold the key information you need.
The game features 20 distinctive characters, each with their own stories and motives, and it’s up to you to decide who earns your trust and who requires a cautious approach. Across five challenging cases, you’ll delve into clues and interrogate suspects, all to protect lives — and your business.
“Best Served Cold” is set to launch digitally on the Nintendo eShop for the Switch, with a global release slated for 2025.
