Yorutouge immerses you in a vibrant, psychedelic Vocaloid rave world, perfectly crafted for exploration within VRChat. Brought to life by VR_SMEJ, this dazzling experience weaves the creative sounds of Vocaloid composer and producer Kikuo into a vivid 20-minute virtual rave. It’s designed to uplift your spirits. The team behind it shared, “Our goal was to create a ‘manic stopping point’ for those needing an escape from life’s haziness or heaviness.”
During the NewImages Festival 2025’s XR Market, I had the chance to dive into this world alongside four others. Yorutouge was among 14 immersive projects vying for attention in the XR Competition. Our journey kicked off in a fantastical cave, quickly transforming into an enthralling audiovisual spectacle. As you move onto the dance floor, five lively tracks come alive, with Kikuo deftly steering the event as the DJ.
The standout feature for me is how the visual effects envelop the entire space. This elevates the experience beyond your typical disco, creating awe-inspiring displays—though it’s a must-avoid for those sensitive to flashing lights. With an excellent music selection and infectious vibe, the carefully crafted environments kept me wondering what would unfold next.
