We’ve finally got a date for Switch 2 preorders in the United States, after a couple of weeks filled with discussions on tariffs.
Nintendo made it official today—the Switch 2 preorders kick off on Thursday, April 24. The prices remain steady, with the standalone system at $449.99 and a bundle that includes digital Mario Kart World at $499.99.
However, it seems some accessory prices will see an uptick due to current market conditions. The Pro Controller for the Switch 2 now stands at $84.99, which is a $5 increase. The Joy-Cons also see a slight bump, costing $94.99 for a pair. A second dock set has gone up by $10, now priced at $119.99. Extra straps for the Joy-Cons will set you back $13.99, an increase of a dollar. Various other accessories have also seen a $5 increase each. For those interested, this article includes a detailed list of hardware prices along with the confirmed prices for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza.
As for the Canadian market, preorders are expected to commence on the same day. However, national holidays might delay this confirmation. Despite retailers not having updated their systems yet, Nintendo of Canada has confirmed both the preorder date and the Canadian pricing.
