Guess what? We’ve got some thrilling news buzzing around social media, and it’s bound to make this month far more intriguing than it might have been otherwise. It seems we’re on the brink of a substantial update about the future development of the game “Jinx” and the forthcoming Alpha Lab test. While it’s essentially an announcement for a video update, it definitely stokes the excitement with the promise of detailed insights coming soon.
The man bringing us this tidbit is none other than Ben Forbes, the editor-in-chief for 2XKO. He shared the scoop on Twitter, saying, “We’ve just wrapped up filming the latest 2XKO update! We’re currently knee-deep in the editing, production, and localization phases, but here’s a teaser of what’s on the horizon: an in-depth look at the gameplay changes since Alpha Lab 1, including Jinx, some background information on Alpha Lab 2, and a showmatch featuring the dev team.”
He adds, “This update dives deep, so the video runs quite long—probably around an hour. We’re aiming to release it during the last week of March. While we’re not switching to PowerPoint livestreams just yet, who knows what the future holds.”
Now, before you get too excited, it’s worth noting that Ben did clarify there won’t be any new character reveals in this update. So, don’t start placing bets on that front just yet.
Reflecting back on last year, the 2XKO team left us with a cryptic “See you next year” after promising new details in February. Instead, game director Shaun Rivera took to Twitter to share some updates regarding changes in the scope of the next Alpha Labs test and introduced a new fuse for the game.
It seems there have been some internal adjustments at Riot, causing a shift in timelines and pushing the planned February update to this month. Regardless, with the game set to debut later this year, this update promises to shed light on the current progress, ongoing work, and where we might soon see 2XKO engaging the real world.
