Hello, Trailblazers! We’re excited to bring you the latest updates from the Honkai: Star Rail dev team. It’s been a minute since we last connected, but we’re here to shed some light on the upcoming version 2.7 update. “A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn” is set to launch on December 4th, marking the end of our saga in Penacony. As the Astral Express readies itself to journey towards the enigmatic Amphoreus, also known as the Eternal Land, this update smoothly transitions us to an exciting new story in version 3.0.
In the previous chapters, Black Swan hinted that our Crew should explore Amphoreus, a place so mysterious that even Akivili, the Aeon of Trailblaze, couldn’t explore it. Navigating this path with a mix of curiosity and caution, Ms. Himeko, our trusty Navigator, is busy gathering whatever information she can about this intriguing destination. Meanwhile, the Crew makes its final stop in Penacony, meeting old friends and cherishing memories from their last stint before leaping into their next thrilling escapade.
### Old friends stepping back into the limelight
The enchanting memories of the Penacony Grand Theater are vivid and fresh as ever. Not only the Astral Express and Penacony have come out of their slumber—Sunday’s back as well. Joining forces with Mr. Sunday on stage again evokes such profound emotions. He’s relinquished his role as the Oak Family’s head and decided to, as he says, “Descend to the mortal realm and explore its lands to truly understand this world.” Leaving behind the blessings of Harmony and Order, Sunday embarks on creating his ideal utopia as a mere mortal. This time, he returns to Penacony, with the help of a mysterious Pepeshi named Wonweek, seeking to leave a lasting impression with a final performance before embarking on his new quest. With a new robe and hood, designed to freshen up his look and keep his true identity hidden, he prepares for his ultimate dance in the Planet of Festivities.
Sunday is a 5-star Imaginary character whose unique support skills make him invaluable. His special ability prompts an ally to act immediately, enhancing their Damage (DMG) output. Should that ally have a Summon, both they and the Summon can act without delay, further boosting their DMG potential. When Sunday activates his Ultimate, he regenerates energy for one ally, turning both the ally and Summon into “The Beatified,” which increases their CRIT DMG with the grant of a shining halo.
Joining Sunday is Fugue, better known to us as Tingyun. Once a cunning foxian, her name, look, and very identity were snatched away. Yet, fate gifted her a slim ray of hope, although the mark of Destruction keeps stirring within her. Just skirting death in her face-off with Phantylia in version 1.2’s main narrative, she was granted a fresh lease on life by Madam Ruan Mei from the Genius Society. Recently, Himeko and Welt paid Madam Ruan Mei a visit and made it their mission to bring Miss Tingyun back into the fold, reigniting her journey to the place where she truly belongs.
Fugue is a 5-star Fire character whose strengths lie in supporting an ally to lower Toughness, independent of enemy Weaknesses. With Fugue in action, enemies are subjected to Cloudflame Luster. When this state is depleted, the enemy takes Break DMG once more. Plus, teammates striking Weakness Broken enemies cause Super Break DMG. Not just that, Fugue’s Technique augments allies’ Break Effects, and her Ultimate delivers Fire DMG to all enemies by directly reducing all foes’ Toughness without considering Weakness Type.
We’ll also see the return of two limited 5-star characters: General Jing Yuan and Firefly, in the version 2.7 warp event first and second halves respectively. Their powerful support roles make them indispensable for future missions.
### New gameplay features in version 2.7 and onwards
This version isn’t just about characters and story but offers players an immersive time aboard the Astral Express. Picture yourself in the new Party Car — an elegant space where nostalgia intertwines with style. Imagine relaxing in a spacious reception area with a sleek marble bar, complete with a classically designed bartending robot, and the infinite cosmos outside the window. Whether bonding with the Express Crew over drinks or gazing thoughtfully out the window, it’s an inviting experience.
Venture upstairs to discover the Trailblazer’s quarters. The Cosmic Home Décor Guide event allows you to transform a vacant storage space into a personalized refuge. Piece by piece, using furniture procured with Express Funds from various tasks, you’ll create areas like a comfy bedroom and bathroom, mirroring your celestial journey.
In exciting development, the Relic system will see an upgrade in version 3.0. It will enable players to select the Main and Subsidiary Stats for a Relic during synthesis. This will be accomplished using a new item, Wishful Resin, along with Self-Modeling Resin, to set both Stats simultaneously.
Lastly, before we wrap up, here’s a little gem Pom-Pom discovered while organizing the Trailblazer’s storage boxes! From the version 2.7 update through the end of version 3.2, Trailblazers have the chance to claim a Gift of the Express, choosing one regular 5-star character to join their roster. As we continue this brave expedition with both old friends and new allies, let’s go forth together and face future battles side by side!
That’s all for our insights into version 2.7. Stick with us for more surprises in the pipeline. We hope you’re eager because our ally Herta, genius behind Herta Space Station, is all set for the adventures that await when version 2.7 rolls out on December 4.
