Hey there, Xbox enthusiasts! We’ve got some exciting news for you today. Mark your calendars because our latest game, “Overthrown,” is set to launch in Xbox Game Preview on December 5th for Xbox Series X|S and PC, and it will be available with Game Pass. For those just tuning into our game, Overthrown isn’t your average city builder—it’s all about embracing chaos with a bit of a twist. Picture this: playing as an anime-style superhero with incredible abilities, all while teaming up with up to five friends. Despite the wild superpowers, your mission remains the same: build and defend your city from the onslaught of mutants and bandits. Today, let’s dive into some insights to help you make the most of your co-op experience.
To set the stage, here’s a little backstory for you. Thanks to an ancient, magical crown that’s been stealing souls for centuries, you’re bestowed with the ability to lift almost anything in your path. Huge trees? Easy peasy. Monster nests? No problem. How about picking up an entire sawmill to absorb trees as you stroll through the forest? Absolutely! Your powers are limitless! With supersonic speed, a legendary throw, and a helicopter-like spin attack, you’re in for some enchanting fun. Now, imagine all this power harnessed alongside five of your buddies. You can already picture the chaos and shenanigans, right?
Here are a few pointers to ensure your co-op sessions are nothing short of epic:
### One Crown to Rule Them All
When you and your friends dive into co-op mode, keep an eye out because the Crown appears on the map for anyone to grab. While everyone gets Crown powers, the wearer enjoys a larger reserve and can execute cool moves faster. Collaboration is key, but let’s be honest, there’s a friendly competition element too. During games, there will be times when the almighty Crown might be stolen or misplaced, paving the way for exhilarating action. Enemies like the Tuskar or an Outlaw might snag it, and then it’s up to you and your friends to reclaim it. The hero who retrieves the Crown receives that extra boost. Remember, there’s no PvP, so as tempting as it might be, no taking out your pals for the Crown!
### Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Next up, more workstations in your city lead to more citizens flocking to your settlement. With friends, you can assign different tasks across zones and districts, speeding up citizen influx. And let’s face it, not everyone relishes each task equally. You might be all about construction, while your buddy thrives on combat—no sweat! Dividing chores is seamless and fun.
### Experiment
Last but certainly not least, I urge you to experiment. When we first embarked on creating Overthrown, player curiosity was our guiding light. We want our players to continually ask themselves, “Can I do this?” or “What if I try that?” The answers are always “Yes, you can” and “Please, give it a shot!” The game’s design is all about interactivity, surprise, and pure silliness. That’s the magic of playing with friends!
We hope Overthrown sounds like a blast and that you’re eager to dive in alone or with pals. Currently in Game Preview, we’re refining Overthrown with valuable community feedback, and we’d love for you to be a part of this journey. So gear up for a thrilling adventure starting December 5th when Overthrown launches on Xbox Game Preview and Game Pass for Xbox consoles and PC.
And just a quick update—our launch was initially slated for December 10, but we’ve since moved it up to December 5. See you in the game!
